PASSPORTS: INNOVATE strongly encourages all applicants to apply for or renew their passport at the time of application. Visa applications for most foreign countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months after your date of travel, in this case through September 2009. US citizens may access the US Department of State Passport Information Page to apply for or renew your passport. Citizens of other nations should contact their designated passport issuing authority.
US VISA HOLDERS: If you are an international student attending a university in the US on an F-1, J-1 or other visa you must also ensure that your US visa is valid for re-entry to the US when INNOVATE concludes. Schedule a meeting with your Office of International Students and Scholars to verify this information as soon as possible.
VISAS FOR VIETNAM: All INNOVATE delegates must obtain a visa to enter Vietnam. For US-delegates the visa application & processing fee is included in your conference registration fee and more details on this process will be forwarded to you in December. International delegates are responsible for obtaining their own visas into Vietnam by applying through your local Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate.
VISAS FOR TAIWAN - US CITIZENS: U.S. passport holders will be allowed to enter Taiwan without a visa for up to thirty days (no extensions or change of status allowed) if they have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Taiwan and a confirmed return or onward air ticket. Travelers must have already met any additional visa requirements for the next destination, if applicable.
VISAS FOR TAIWAN - NON US CITIZENS: Citizens of 31 other nations qualify for the Visa Exemption Program for Taiwan. To determine if you qualify for please click here. If your country is not listed under the visa exempt program you will need to apply individually for a tourist visa to enter through your local Taiwanese Embassy or Consulate.
Please keep in mind that visa issuance is at the discretion of the host nation and INNOVATE cannot be held accountable if you are denied a visa or entry into Vietnam or Taiwan for any reason. |
